A wonderful set of Mala Beads, totalling 108 Green Aventurine 8mm spheres in all, and comes in its own fetching, luxury drawstring pouch.

They are also hand-knotted between each sphere, and the there is a large 10mm bead at the end of the 108 beads and to denote the start of the tassel.

Also known as a Buddhist Rosary It is traditionally utilised for keeping count while reciting, chanting, or mentally repeating a mantra - or name(s) of a particular deity. This is a practice known in Sanskrit as japa. Hindu tradition holds that the correct way to use a mala is with the right hand, with the thumb flicking one bead to the next, and with the mala draped over the middle finger. The index finger represents ego, the greatest impediment to Self-Realization, so it is considered best avoided (as with the ego) when chanting on a mala.
